Paris is known as the "City of Lights" but it could equally
well be called the "City of Green." Scattered throughout the
area are many small and large gardens, public squares and parks
as well as several large cemeteries with horticultural interest.
Some are simply small green spaces while others have unique
elements and charm making them worth a visit.
France is divided into 95 geographic regions called
departments. The City of Paris is department number 75. It is
divided into 20 smaller districts called arrondissements.
Postal codes are based on these units so, if someone lives in
the 5th arrondissement in Paris, his code number would be 75005.
