This is a relatively new garden located in
the northeast part of Paris. The 130 acre park was a cattle
market until the 1970's. At that time, it was transformed into a
landscaped park with sections of lawn, museums, pavilions and a
concert hall, the Cité de la Musique.
Divided by the Canal de l'Ourcq (it can be reached by canal
cruise) the park features a bright red sculptural "follies" by
artist Bernard Tschumi, a Belle Epoque exhibit hall, the Cité
des Sciences et de l'Industrie, the Géode (a spherical
auditorium with a 180-degree screen showing nature films) and
the modern-design Café de la Musique.
