This cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Frosty
Morn' which was registered by
Dr. Dick and Jane Ward of Ohio in 2005. It is a medium to large size mound of
blue-green foliage which changes to green later in the
season. The foliage is heavily corrugated and has thick
substance. Very pale lavender flowers bloom in July. It
produces viable seeds.
Dr.
Dick and Jane Ward have named several of their hostas in
honor of close relatives. They let me know that, "H.
'Splendid Sarah'
is named after our daughter, who is the mother of
granddaughters after whom H. 'Kaitlyn'
and H. 'Emma
are named. H. 'Lauren's
Delight' is named after a daughter-in-law, and she
is the mother of Alison, of H.'
Alison'. H.
'Magnificent
Michelle' is named after a daughter-in-law."
