Registered by Dr. Dick and Jane Ward of Ohio in 2005, this
medium size (16 inches high by 30 inches wide) cultivar
is of unidentified parentage. Its medium blue-green foliage
is nearly round, slightly rippled, cupped and dull on
top. Bell shape flowers bloom from June into July on
scapes up to 23 inches tall. According to the registration materials: "...cupped, good blue...greener later..."
Dr.
Dick and Jane Ward have named several of their hostas in
honor of close relatives. They let me know that, "H.
'Splendid Sarah'
is named after our daughter, who is the mother of
granddaughters after whom H. 'Kaitlyn'
and H. 'Emma
are named. H. 'Lauren's
Delight' is named after a daughter-in-law, and she
is the mother of Alison, of H.'
Alison'. H.
'Magnificent
Michelle' is named after a daughter-in-law."
