This "Sieboldiana type" cultivar was registered in 2007 by Van Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio. It is a  hybrid of H. 'Puckered Giant' × H. 'Woodland Blue' which forms a large size (26 inches high by 51 inches wide) mound. The dark green foliage is very heavily corrugated, convexly cupped, somewhat unruly and has thick substance. Near white flowers appear in clusters from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "At maturity 'Clear Fork River Valley' displays some of the most heavily corrugated foliage seen in hostas."

From the Field Guide to Hostas by Mark Zilis (2014), "...I am awestruck by its incredible puckering. It also offers great durability in the garden..."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Slow to moderate growth but leave plenty of space for future increase...One of the most heavily puckered hostas. The blueness in the leaf color disappears as summer progresses."
