  This upright growing cultivar was
originated by Dr. Ralph (Herb)
and Dorothy Benedict of Michigan but registered in 2010
by Rod Kuenster of Iowa on their behalf, and is of unidentified parentage. The plant
grows to a medium size around 15 inches high by 32
inches wide. Its golden
yellow foliage is nearly round, heavily corrugated, slightly cupped and slightly shiny on top. Bell shape
flowers bloom from June into July on scapes 24 to 30
inches tall.
According to the registration materials: "...yellow with heavy puckering..."

1990, the six best, 7 year old seedlings were named and three were registered.

Another 'Dorothy Benedict' seedling, grown and registered by
Jim Wilkins, is 'Herb Benedict', a splashed, round leaf with blue overtones
and winner of the Savory Shield Award in Jackson (MI), 1988, for the best
new seedling growing in a
National
Convention of The
American Hosta Society tour garden."
