Hosta 'Moongate Flying Saucer'

A 1996 registration by Charles Isaacs of Moongate Farm in North Carolina and Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina, this cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Serendipity' × H. 'Blue Blazes'. Its bluish green foliage changes to dark green as the growing season progresses. The leaves are slightly cupped and corrugated. It has pale lavender flowers in July followed by viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in good light to light shade to retain the blue color for as long as possible. A moderate increaser."
