Hosta 'Border Bandit'

This hybrid of "Seedling 81-8" x H. 'Halcyon' was registered by Wm and Eleanor Lachman of Massachusetts in 1992. A sibling of H. 'Crusader' and H. 'Torchlight', this cultivar grows to medium size about 16 inches high by 34 inches wide. It has dark green foliage with yellow marginal variegation. In August, it produces pale purple flowers followed by viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Slow to increase at first but becomes a superb plant. A dramatic presence in the shaded border because of the slightly twisted leaves. An ideal pot plant."
