Registered by John Kulpa of Michigan in 1999, this is a seedling of H. 'Pin Stripe Sister'. It is a medium size (19 inches high by 44 inches wide) plant. The foliage is slightly wavy and moderately corrugated with good substance. It starts the season with a yellow center which turns white as the season progresses. Near white flowers bloom from mid-July into August with cream colored floral bracts. It is sterile and does not set seeds.

From the Field Guide to Hostas by Mark Zilis (2014), "White-centered cultivars are always popular...Unfortunately, many exhibit a slow growth rate, reaching maturity only after several years of careful tending. 'Ann Kulpa' is not one of these cultivars. It has proven to be an outstanding grower in hosta collections and nursery containers...The leaf center begins the season yellow, turning white by mid-June."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Vigorous, a moderate increaser. Needs frequent division to retain the centrally striped effect."
