Dr. Kevin Vaughn of Massachusetts registered this
hybrid of H. 'Gold Piece' ×
(a hybrid of H. 'Golden
Waffles' × H. 'Rough
Waters'), a sibling of H. 'Aztec
Treasure' in
1988. This large size plant grows to about 30 inches high and 6 feet
wide with heavily corrugated, cupped foliage with a deeply lobed
base. Pale purple flowers bloom from late June.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...aptly named...offers unruly,
unsettled foliage in a large, semi-upright mound."
Apologies
to the Isley Brothers who released the original of this song one
year before the Beatle's version in 1963.
