Dr. Kevin Vaughn of
Massachusetts registered this complex hybrid which involved
H. ventricosa,
H. tibae,
H. plantaginea and
H. nigrescens in
1983. It forms an upright
growing, giant size plant up to 42 inches
tall by 50 inches wide. The dark green foliage has thick substance
and there is a yellow spot at the leaf tip.
According to
The Genus HOSTA by
W. George Schmid (1991),
"Plant has a yellow spot near leaf tip that enlarges until the entire leaf is
yellow. Veins dark green."
