Dr. Kevin Vaughn of
Massachusetts registered this medium to large size (23
inches high) yellow foliaged hosta in 1987. It is a
hybrid of H. 'Golden
Waffles' × H. 'Rough
Waters' with pale purple flowers in late June
and, according to
The Hosta Handbook by Mark Zilis (2000) is "underrated".
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), this
cultivar "...certainly ranks as one of the best
gold-leaved cultivars ever developed...it produces
purple flowers that contrast nicely with the bright
gold foliage."
