A
hybrid of H. 'Gold Piece' ×
(H. 'Golden
Waffles' × H. 'Rough
Waters') a sibling to H. 'Aztec Treasure',
this dark green hosta was originated by
Dr. Kevin Vaughn of Massachusetts and
registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. The clump grows to a large size
about 22 inches high by 50 inches wide with
ovate leaves that are broadly ovate, unruly, heavily corrugated and have thick
substance. It bears funnel shaped flowers of very pale purple
color in July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks as one of the best
cultivars for unruly foliage and is certainly one of the most
aptly named. As it matures, its corrugation and waviness
increase significantly."
