When a lot of
people think of Africa, they have visions of
dense, steaming jungles. The reality is that
this large, long continent includes many different
environments from jungles to desserts to
mountain areas and more. Almost all of them
are either
subtropical
or
tropical
in nature with a few warm
temperate
zones thrown in for good measure.
Many plant
species were "discovered" by
European
plant explorers in this region
and were then introduced to the rest of
the world.
