Arborvitae

These are small evergreen trees or shrubs used extensively in home landscapes. They are sometimes confused with a similar group called Chamaecyparis. Flowers are monoecious with male types being yellow and female types rounded and forming a rounded cone.

Generally, arborvitae have few serious insect and disease problems. However, they are often eaten by deer.
