Registered by
Dr. Dick Ward and Jane Ward of Ohio
in
2009, this cultivar
is a sport of H. 'Pin
Stripe Sister'. It is a medium to large size hosta
about 18 inches high by 62 inches wide with medium green
foliage that has yellow to white streaked variegation.
The broadly ovate leaves are heavily rippled, moderately
wavy and have variegated petioles. Pale lavender flowers
bloom from mid-July into August on variegated scapes up
to 30 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...excellent pod
parent for variegated seedlings." According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Hybridizers should consider using this as a starting
point in the development of better floral bracts in
hostas." |
