Hosta 'Sum and Subtle'

A tissue culture sport of H. 'Sum and Substance', this hosta was registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2009. It is a slow growing, large size plant about 22 inches high by 40 inches wide with golden yellow colored foliage that have a pale green marginal variegation.

The leaves are moderately wavy, nearly round and dull on top. Lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August. Its foliage becomes darker gold as the summer progresses which increases the contrast with the chartreuse colored margins.
