Registered by Dr. Dick and Jane Ward of Ohio in 2013,
this miniature size (4 inches high by 11 inches wide)
cultivar is a sport of H. ‘Funny Mouse’.
It has pale yellow foliage that is lightly wavy, broadly
ovate and dull on top. Bell shape flowers bloom from
June into July on scapes 6 to 8 inches tall. According to the registration materials: "...golden
yellow leafed "Mouse"..."
"H. ‘Solar
Mouse’ (2013) – This was registered as having
parentage of a sport of an unregistered sport of
H. 'Blue
Mouse Ears'. After much debate, and in the
interests of providing as much information as
possible regarding parentage, it was determined that
the actual name of the parent from which the
cultivar was derived, albeit unregistered, would be
more accurate and thus, the parentage has been
changed to a sport of H. ‘Funny Mouse’."
