A
sport of H. 'Golden Scepter', this cultivar was registered by
Walters Gardens,
Inc. of Michigan in 1988. The chartreuse leaves have a
white medial (center) variegation. Its mound grows into a
miniature size hosta only 4
inches in height with a spread of around 8 inches.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...tends to be a very weak grower that can only be
maintained under close supervision in containers. I've only seen
it in one collection, barely alive and chewed up by slugs. I've
noted here that 'Silver Tiara' is similar to 'Emerald Scepter',
but the latter is a much better grower."
