Hosta 'Sea Gold'

Part of the "Sea Series' of hostas, this plant was registered by Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts in 1985. It is a large size (23 inches high) plant that is an open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Ledi Lantis'. The foliage is slightly wavy and corrugated, ovate shaped and  has above average substance. Whitish flowers bloom from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "A photo of Mildred Seaver holding three leaves of "Sea Gold' graced the cover of the Spring 1986 issue of The Hosta Journal (1986 Vol. 17, No. 1) . Mildred's leaves had just received the President's Exhibitor Trophy (overall champion) during the 1985 National Convention of The American Hosta Society cut leaf show. Still, it has never been very popular in the nursery trade."
