Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan registered this cultivar in 2000. It is a hybrid of H. 'Sea
Prize' × H. 'Maekawa' that grows into a medium size (17 inches high)
mound with heavily corrugated, unruly, slightly rippled foliage
with thick substance. In July, it produces very pale lavender
flowers. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...was registered
as having heavily streaked foliage...Ed Elslager's specimen had
stabilized to the chartreuse-centered version...That form
represents the cultivar in the nursery trade."
