A 2001 registration by
Mildred
Seaver of Massachusetts, this cultivar of unidentified parentage forms a large
size (26 inches high by 60 inches wide)
mound of heavily rippled, slightly corrugated foliage. It has near white flowers from mid-June into July
followed by viable seeds.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This Mildred Seaver introduction won the "Best of
Show" award at the 1997
National Convention of
The American Hosta Society leaf show. On one 13" by
9˝" leaf, I once counted 20 small ripples on each half of the
leaf blade."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "A layered mound of great architectural
beauty...Grow with plain-leaved hostas to accentuate the attractively rippled
edges...Won Best in Show Award at the
National Convention of
The
American Hosta Society in 1997... The most dramatic blue-leaved hosta with rippled margins
which will stand out in any collection."
