Mark Zilis of Illinois
and
Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina jointly registered this
tissue culture sport of H. 'Pineapple
Poll' in 1999. It forms a medium size (18 inches high by 50
inches wide)
mound of narrowly elliptic, heavily rippled foliage. In August,
it bears lavender flowers on 30 inch scapes followed by viable
seeds.
According to
The Hosta Handbook by Mark Zilis (2000), its "...leaves all-green in spring changing to an
attractive combination of gold centers and rippled green
margins."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009)
states: "Exposure to hot sun can bleach out the
variegation. Less vigorous than the parent."
