Hosta 'Pastures New'

Peter Ruh of Ohio registered this H. nakaiana seedling in 1997 on behalf of the originator Alex Summers of Delaware. The mound grows into a medium size hosta about 16 inches high and 38 inches wide. Its leaves are dull on the top and have average substance. Pure white flowers bloom in late July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...shows evidence of actually being from Hosta sieboldii..."

"Plant is similar to H. 'Candy Hearts' or H. 'Pearl Lake' but smaller. Scapes do not have ridges and the petioles are purple dotted." Schmid indicates that Eric Smith of England is the originator of this plant.
