This
cultivar is a sport of H. 'Maekawa' and it
shares many of the characteristics of the parent plant. It forms a medium size mound about
17 inches high and 50 inches wide which has
pale lavender flowers that bloom in
late July. It was registered by
Roy Klehm of Illinois in 2004.
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "...in 2002 when I was shown a
picture of a mature specimen. Wow! I had never seen anything like it...it
exhibits typical H. hypoleuca
foliage (except color), mound, and flowering characteristics."
