Registered by
Paul Aden of New York in 1980, this cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Fascination' × H. 'Intrigue'.
The plant grows into a medium size hosta about 16 inches in height by 46 inches in
width. Its highly variable foliage is green with streaked
variegation of green and yellow. Pale lavender flowers bloom in
July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "At one time, this was well-known, but it has become
scarce. The foliage varies from garden to garden, leaf to leaf,
making it difficult to maintain the true, streaked cultivar."
This
plant is named for another hosta hybridizer...you guessed it,
Loleta Powell of
Powell's Iris Haven in North Carolina.
