Hosta 'Lady Helen'

This cultivar which was introduced in 1960 was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator Gladys Holly of Wisconsin in 1998. A large size plant, it grows into a large size hosta about 19 inches in height and 53 inches in width with slightly rippled, ovate shaped leaves. Its pale lavender flowers bloom in July.

"Plants are viridescent, yellow in spring, all green later. Some cultivars in commerce under the name are not the true form due to errors in distribution; the incorrect plants look like H. 'Nakaimo'."
