![](../../images/cultivars-z/Z-flower-power.jpg) Registered by
Dr. Kevin Vaughn of Massachusetts in
1987, this cultivar is the result of a cross of
H. nigrescens
x H. plantaginea. A
giant size plant, it grows up to 36
inches high and 7 feet wide. The leaves are lobed at the base,
have slightly wavy margins and form a pointed tip at the end.
Starting in mid-July, fragrant, pale lavender flowers begin to
bloom.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...another example of Kevin
Vaughn's thoughtful breeding. It exhibits the best traits of
both parents."

In an article in
The
Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No 2), the author
described this plant's flowers as having a "Weak"
fragrance compared to other hostas.
