Hosta 'Fan Dance'

A sport of H. 'Dorothy', this cultivar was registered by Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan in 1987. It forms a medium size (18 inches high) mound and has light purple flowers with darker streaks in the petals borne in August. The foliage is slightly corrugated with average substance. Light purple flowers open from late July into mid-August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Unfortunately, I've seen specimens in several collections contaminated with Hosta Virus X, typified by a dark green color bleeding down the veins. Such plants should be destroyed."
