Hosta 'Emily Dickinson'

This cultivar which is a hybrid of an H. 'Neat Splash' seedling × the species, H. plantaginea,   was registered by Wm and Eleanor Lachman of Massachusetts in 1987. It forms a medium size (17 inches high by 41 inches wide) mound of foliage with a yellow marginal variegation that turns white later in the summer. Medium purple colored, fragrant flowers appear in August.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Increases rapidly."

In an article in The Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No 2), the author described this plant's flowers as having a "Weak" fragrance compared to other hostas.
