Hosta 'Elsley'

This cultivar of unidentified origin and unidentified parentage was registered by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It is a medium size plant about 15 inches high by 29 inches wide with medium green foliage with a white marginal variegation. The leaves are slightly rippled, elliptic and slightly shiny on the bottom. Lavender, tubular flowers bloom from July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...is either the same as 'Ginko Craig' or closely related to it."

We suspect that this plant was named for John Elsley from Wayside Gardens in South Carolina. There are also a cultivars named H. 'Elsley Runner' and H. 'John Elsley'.
