Hosta 'Coast to Coast'
aka SHADOWLANDS® 'Coast to Coast'
 

Olga Petryszyn of Indiana registered this upright, giant size (30 inches high by 36 inches wide) hybrid of H. 'Manhattan' × H. 'Golden Gate' in 2014. It has greenish yellow foliage with a pale yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are moderately corrugated, slightly wavy, slightly cupped, broadly ovate and slightly shiny on top. Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom in July. It sets viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...upright habit, puckering, nearly white back, gold on top, heavy substance."

This plant is part of the SHADOWLAND group of hostas from Walters Gardens, Inc. It was also named the Proven Winners ®
Hosta of the Year for 2020.

Abstract: A new and distinct Hosta plant named ‘Coast to Coast’ characterized by large, cordate, golden-yellow foliage, light lavender flowers beginning in early July on compact scapes just above foliage and upright habit.
