Hosta 'Carolina Sunshine'

Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina registered this cultivar in 1999. It is the result of a cross of H. 'Swoosh' × H. tibae. The medium size mound is 13 inches high and 36 inches wide with elliptic to elliptic ovate shaped leaves. Pale purple flowers bloom in late July followed by viable seeds.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...the "convention plant" of the 2001 National Convention of The American Hosta Society in North Carolina where it was given to each attendee."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Very sun tolerant even in warmer climates. Increases rapidly. Easy to grow...deeply rippled leaf edge."
