This cultivar was once known as
				H. 'Winter Snow Streaked' but was registered as H. 'Blizzard' by
Jim Anderson of Winterberry Farms in Georgia in 2003. It is a
tissue culture sport of H. 'Sum and Substance' which forms a
giant
size (30 inches high by 71 inches wide) mound of foliage typical of
its heritage. From late July into August, it produces large pale
lavender flowers on four foot tall scapes followed by viable seeds.
 According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...one of the few streaked sports
out of 'Sum and Substance', but the color varies from plant to
				plant."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
				Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "The streaked variegation is fairly stable. Is
fertile and yields streaked seedlings. The substance is extremely good for a
streaked-leaved hosta."
