This cultivar is the result of
the cross, H. 'Mikawa-no-yuki' × H. 'Uncle John'. It was
registered in 2005 by
Frank Nyikos of Walnut Grove Nursery in Indiana. A medium size plant, its
leaves are deeply veined and slightly wavy. Dense clusters of
very pale purple flowers bloom in late July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The flowers have a
picotee edge,
i.e., they are a darker purple near the petal tips."
