This cultivar originated in its native
Japan in the Aormori
Prefecture and was discovered by
Kimio Muroya and
registered on his behalf by
Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2009. It is also incorrectly known as
H. rectifolia 'Amori
Gold' and is registered as a
tissue culture
sport of H. rectifolia 'Aomori
Setting Sun'. It grows to a medium size about 14 inches in height and
28 inches in
width. The leaves are ovate, shiny on top and very shiny
on the bottom. Dark purple flowers from mid-July
into August.
