Hosta 'American Monster'

A seedling of H. 'Sea Monster', this cultivar is a non-registered introduction by Van Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio. The giant size hosta grows 29 inches high and spreads to about 57 inches in width. Its leaves are heavily corrugated and have a thick substance with some cupping. Near white flowers begin to bloom in late June.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...chief ornamental features...intense corrugation, unruliness and thick substance."
