A hybrid of H. 'Christmas Tree Gala' × H. 'Elatior', this
cultivar was registered by
Olga Petryszyn of Indiana in 2006. It forms an
upright mound about 29 inches high by 52 inches wide. The leaves
have a deeply lobed base and a tip at the end. The plant
produces pure white flowers from mid-July into August.
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "Viewing this fantastic cultivar
in Olga Petryszyn's collection almost took my breath away...a
truly elegant clump."
From the
Field Guide to Hostas by
Mark Zilis (2014), "...simply one of the best cultivars introduced by anyone in
recent memory. It combines the best traits of its parents."
In his
Field Guide to Hostas (2014), author
Mark Zilis
says, "This is simply one of the best cultivars introduced by
anyone in recent memory. It combines the best traits of its
parents. Its foliage coloration comes out of 'Christmas Tree
Gala', while the shininess and mound habit resemble 'Elatior'."
