Hosta
'Alice Gladden'

This large, gold leaf plant was registered by Dr. Dick and Jane Ward of Ohio in 1998. It is the result of a cross between H. 'White Vision' × H. montana macrophylla. This is a large size (24 inches high by 60 inches wide) hosta with narrow ovate leaves and near white flowers from late June into July.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Lutescent. Color is better in light to moderate shade for half the day. Vigorous...An arresting specimen or border plant needing space around it to set off its distinctive pose. Lovely when backed by shrubs with dark green leaves."

This is one of six cultivars developed by the Wards with the H. 'White Vision' × H. montana macrophylla cross.
