For many of us, a secondary way to enjoy of our gardens comes from snipping off blooms and bringing them into the house. People who have a lot of room in their landscapes often set aside space in a vegetable garden to grow rows of flowering plants specifically for cutting. However, many of us do not have such a luxury so the next best thing is to incorporate these plants into our beds and borders. Of course, you will probably not want to cut off all the blooms from a plant at any one time but, rather, just take a few and leave the rest to fulfill your design intent in your beds and borders.

There are many, many ornamental plants in the landscape that can provide beautiful flowers that do well when cut and placed in a vase. These would include annuals, perennials and shrubs for sure and you might find a few trees and vines that would work also.

Here is a link to a "rookie's" list of plants that are known to work well as cut flowers.
