2020,
this upright, medium size (15 inches high by 28 inches
wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Crimson
Desire' ×
H. 'Night Flight'. The medium green, ovate
foliage is slightly twisted, slightly shiny on top,
slightly wavy and has leaf tips that twist and curve
downward. Its petioles have a "saturated" garnet red
color that extends up into the leaf blade.
Medium
lavender flowers with translucent margins bloom from
mid-August into September. The scapes are "saturated
purplish red with slight glaucous bloom" and stand 20 to
26 inches tall. It bears seed in burgundy pods but their
viability was unknown at the time of registration. The
registration materials state: "...Saturated red
petioles extend up and out to form an open mound of rich
green foliage. Posture shows off the attractive
petioles.." |
