This sport of the species,
H. venusta, was registered by
Ran Lydell of
Cooks Nursery and Eagle Bay Gardens in New York in 2000. It
grows into a small size hosta about 9 inches high and 29 inches wide with narrowly ovate
leaves that have smooth texture and thin substance. The medium
purple flowers bloom in July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I cannot, however, distinguish it
from 'Little White
Lines'."
The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack
(2010) says: "Undemanding. One of the best small variegated hostas
that will do well anywhere."
