There is an image of this
cultivar on the
Hosta Library. From the photo on the HL website, it appears to be a small to
medium
size hosta with yellowish colored leaves. This non-registered cultivar was
originated in Japan.
An article by
W. George Schmid in
The Hosta Journal (1996 Vol. 27 No. 2) states
that the correct name is Hosta hypoleuca 'Ogon
Urajiro'.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term urajiro
as white-backed or white underside and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow. |
