This
tissue culture sport of H. 'Sea
Octopus' was originated by
Robert Lasek of
Canada but registered
by the Ontario Hosta Society in 2008. It is a small size
hosta that grows to about 8 inches high with a spread of
about 20 inches. The green colored foliage has white
medial (center) variegation and regular ripples which
become more irregular as the plant ages. Its foliage is
dull on top, moderately corrugated and has average
substance with red dotted petioles. Medium purple
flowers bloom from August into September.
The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack
(2010) says: "Will enjoy several hours of sun provided it gets
plenty of water. An ideal plant for the raised bed and
larger containers."
