An
open-pollinated seedling of H. 'August Moon', this cultivar was registered by
Ken Anderson of Minnesota in 1977. It grows about 17 inches in height with a spread of around
40 inches. The leaves are gold colored in the center with a
marginal variegation of white. Its foliage is unruly, moderately
corrugated and has thick substance. From mid-July into August,
it bears near white flowers.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The leaf center of 'Moon Glow'changes from chartreuse to
gold during the growing season. It has the overall appearance of
'Lunar Eclipse' but does not develop the
drawstring effect."
