In 1999, the
Russ O'Harra
Hosta Society registered this cultivar which was originated by
Russ O'Harra of Iowa. The
parentage is unknown for this large size mound of bright gold foliage
that stands 2 feet tall and 50 inches wide. The leaves have
deeply lobed bases, dull on top and have distinct tips. They are moderately
corrugated and have thick substance. The bell-shape flowers are near white
and bloom in late July.
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "...the general speculation
pointed to it being a seedling of 'Elatior'."
