This sport of H. 'Gold
Drop' was registered by
Walters Gardens,
Inc. of Michigan in 1988. The small size mound has leaves which have a green center with a very
thin white edge. Lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...sometimes develops a
drawstring effect due to a very narrow white margin that stops growing,
while the green center continues to expand. The inevitable
pressure that builds up causes the margin to rip and tear."
The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack
(2010) says: "Grow best in dappled shade, too
much sun can cause a "drawstring" effect. Excellent
for the woodland garden and raised bed."
