Originated by
Bill Janssen of
Collector's Nursery in Washington and registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009, this is a cultivar with
H. venusta
in its background. The miniature size (5 inches high by 16
inches wide) mound with leaves that have a dull
top and a whitish shiny underside.
It bears purple flowers in July.
The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack
(2010) says: "Keep out of bright sunshine to maintain that hint of
blue. Ideal in a collection of small hostas in a
container."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states in its Miniature Hostas chapter: "Site in light to
moderate shade to retain the slight blueness in the leaves for
longer. Grow with other tiny hostas in a stone sink or ceramic
container."
