This cultivar is a
seedling of H. 'Komodo Dragon' × H. 'Elvis Lives' originated by
Monty and Julie Carlson of Minnesota.
It was
registered on their behalf by
Registrar,
Gayle Hatley Alley for
The American Hosta Society.
The medium
size hosta is about 12 inches high by 23 inches wide
with rich blue-green foliage. Its leaves are narrowly
ovate, heavily rippled
and have moderate bloom on the
bottom. Pale purple flowers bloom in July on scapes
about 30 inches tall.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "A most desirable recent introduction which will be
welcomed by all collectors of blue-leaved
hostas...Leaves larger than those of the H. 'Elvis
Lives' parent and with more-pronounced rippled edges."
