				  H. 'August Moon' ×  H. 'Tardiflora' was the cross that 
				resulted in this cultivar. 
									Tony Avent of 
									Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina   
									registered this plant in 
				1993. It is a 
				medium size hosta about 16 inch high by 43 inch wide with smooth 
				textured leaves. Near white flowers are borne in July.

				Andy Taylor was the key character on The Andy Griffith 
				television show from the early 1960's. 
			  
						
						 In an article about hybridizing by
Tony Avent in 
			The 
				Hosta Journal (1996 
						Vol. 27 No. 1),  Tony gives the 
following comments on cultivars he has introduced: "H. 'Andy Taylor' - 
outstanding dark green matte finish hosta with wonderful pure white flowers...An 
'August Moon'  x H. 'Tardiflora' cross...will never knock your socks off, but 
truly wonderful!" 
Tony also gives the 
following comments on cultivars he has introduced: "H. 'Barney Fife' - brother
